Guests to read, sign and return to Solomon's Temple prior to arrival
Thank you for the interest shown in our Holiday House.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Holiday House, Solomons Temple. We hope you are going to have a wonderful time at the river.
We respectfully request that you adhered to these terms and conditions and to take note of the cautions, to ensure a hassle-free stay and to respect our property and our neighbours.
Kindly sign the terms and conditions at the end of this document and return same to us.
I, the undersigned, and my group hereby accept all the following Cautions and Terms and Conditions as stipulated herein. We undertake to abide thereto and confirm that we are aware that, if we transgress any one of these Terms and Conditions, we will be requested to leave the house without refund of any payments.
1. Arrival and Departure
1.1. Arrival – From15h00.
1.1.1. You will be requested to sign a standard trading indemnity form upon arrival. We will also email a copy thereof to you which you can sign on behalf of your group.
1.1.2. We suggest that you complete, sign and return this form and the standard trading indemnity to us electronically prior to your arrival to avoid the administrative issues upon your arrival.
1.2. Departure – Before 10h00.
1.2.1. We will highly appreciate it if you could remove the sheets, pillow sheets and duvet cover and leave it on the beds prior to your departure.
2. Parking
2.1. The staff will direct you to the parking area.
2.2. Although the parking area is within the boundary walls and accessed by electrical gate, there are no additional security services available in the parking area. Please ensure that your vehicles are locked and secured at all times and that valuables are removed from the vehicles.
2.3. Solomons Temple (Pty) Ltd and its representatives will not be liable or responsible for any losses in respect of theft.

3. Water and Electricity
3.1. The property’s water is obtained from a borehole We do have a water filtration system, but the lime content of the water is still high and is not recommended as drinking water.
3.2. There are 3 geysers in the house. Larger groups should avoid using the showers and baths at the same time as you may run out of hot water. You may want to make use of the shower in the entertainment area which has its own geyser.
3.3. Kindly bring your own drinking water.
3.4. The Property’s electricity is supplied directly by Escom, and it happens from time to time that the electricity supply is interrupted due to Escom issues.
3.5. There is no back-up power (generator of invertors) on the property.
3.6. We suggest that you take extra rechargeable lanterns / lamps with, in the event of electricity interruptions.
4. Security
4.1. Ensure that the house and entertainment area are properly locked before you go to sleep.
4.2. Do not let any of your personal items lay around. Solomons Temple (Pty) Ltd and its representatives will not be liable or responsible for any losses in respect of theft.
5. Use of Facilities
5.1. Kindly take note that the swimming pool, jetty, boat launching area and riverfront is not secured, which on its own poses a risk to persons who cannot swim.
5.2. It is your responsibility to ensure the safety of all members of your party in this high-risk environment.
5.3. All facilities are used at own risk. The owner or manager does not accept any liability or legal responsibility whatsoever for any damage, loss or injuries incurred as a result of utilising the facilities or any other injuries or damages visitors may suffer on the property.
6. Use Of Solomons Temple Private Property.
6.1. Guests are not allowed to access or use:
6.1.1. The boats on the premises;
6.1.2. Rooms and cupboards demarcated for private use or Staff only of Solomons Temple.
7. Housekeeping
7.1. As our house and entertainment areas are self-catering, full time housekeeping is not included in your booking.
7.2. Full time housekeeping services can be arranged at an additional fee per day. Please see our HOUSEKEEPING AND SERVICES POLICY.
7.3. You are responsible for cleaning up after yourself. However, if you are staying with us for a week or longer, we will wash and replace your linen once a week free of charge.
7.4. Poor housekeeping and unhygienic living conditions is not acceptable. Please clean up any trach, dishes and glasses after use. We work hard to maintain a hygienic space for all our guests and any help from your side would be greatly appreciated.
8. Towels
8.1. No items are to be removed from the house.
8.2. Bath towels are not to be used outside.
8.3. Please bring your own swimming towels.
9. Smoking Policy
9.1. In accordance with South African law, all smoking indoors is strictly prohibited and any individual who fails to comply will have a fine levied against them. Please confine all smoking to the garden and entertainment area.
9.2. No smoking is allowed in the House.
9.3. No smoking is allowed on or around the Pool table.
10 Pet Policy
10.1. Our house is pet friendly. It is however your duty and responsibility that you clean up after your pet both inside and outside the house. This is not the duty of the domestic servant to do.
11. Visitor Policy
11.1. No visitors are allowed and the amount of individuals that are permitted to be on the premises is restricted to the amount specified in your booking.
12. Excessive Noise
12.1. Excessive noise and/or loud music – any time during the day or night is not allowed.
12.2. The level of noise after 22h00 must be of such a nature that it does not disturb the neighbours.
12.3. A penalty may be imposed and deducted from your breakage deposit should we receive any complaints from the neighbours.
13. Breakage Deposit
13.1. The key/breakage deposit is normally refunded within 10 business days after departure.
13.2. The following will affect the refund:
13.2.1. If there are any traces, signs or smells indicating that someone was smoking in the house, the deposit will not be refunded,
13.2.2. If the manager becomes aware of any act of misbehaviour as defined in these Terms and Conditions (even after the guests have left the premises), the breakage deposit will not be refunded.
13.2.3. If any item is missing, broken or damaged, the replacement value will be subtracted from the deposit. Should any item which needs to be replaced be part of a set, then the replacement value will be based on the value of the set.
13.2.4. If there are stains on the linen or towels, the linen or towels will be replaced, and the costs will be subtracted from the deposit. The following substances are likely to leave stains on linen (this may not be a full and complete list):
13.2.4.1. Food, drinks, Blood, mascara, make-up foundation, self-tanning or quick tanning lotion, and suntan oils,
13.3. Any cost incurred to rectify the Property after the stay will be subtracted from the breakage deposit, e.g. should extra heavy cleaning be required.
13.4. Note: If the breakage deposit is not enough to cover damages or costs, the responsible person in terms of this agreement remains responsible, in his personal capacity, for costs.
Cancellation Policy
Refunds are based on the timing of cancellations:
(Unless we manage to resell the total accommodation) No show, failure to pay the outstanding balance or cancellation within 30 days of stay – No refund due.
Cancellation between 31 and 59 days before stay – 50% of the deposit will be refunded.
Cancellation between 60 and 89 days before stay – 85% of the deposit will be refunded.
Cancellation more than 90 days before stay – 100% of the deposit will be refunded.
